Fan-Made Kylo Ren Helmet Would Impress Darth Vader

Since the first tease was released for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans have been drooling over Kylo Ren’s helmet. The design has a similar silhouette to Darth Vader’s helmet, which makes sense given that Kylo is the ultimate Darth Vader fanboy.

If you want to be like Kylo appearance-wise, you have a few options for his helmet. You can get a Black Series design from Hasbro, an uber fancy fiberglass helmet from Anovos, or you can follow in Toby Markham’s footsteps and make your own. His take on Kylo’s helmet looks screen-accurate and has a moving mouth plate to match the way the Kylo’s helmet moves in the film. I’m drooling.

Markham started his work on the Kylo Ren replica helmet when pictures of it first leaked. He focused on creating the most accurate representation he could, using every image possible for reference. Promotional photos have been trickling out over the last year and surely helped him further hone the design. With the additional photos and the release of the movie, Markham’s reworked the helmet about four times. He’s nailed the shape and all the weathering. Kylo has been through some battles, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if he accidentally damaged his helmet in the middle of one of his temper tantrums.

See more photos of the helmet and Markham’s full Kylo Ren costume in the gallery below. You can keep up with his work on Facebook — his company is Sithcamaro Studios — and on his website.

Is a Kylo Ren helmet on your wish list? Let me know in the comments.
