Fan-Built LEGO GHOSTBUSTERS Set Should Haunt Everybody’s House

We’re only about a month away from the release of Paul Feig‘s take on Ghostbusters, but already we’ve seen a great deal of merchandising surrounding the team of four women taking on the paranormal. They even got their very own LEGO sets including the brand new hearse version of the Ecto-1. But where on Earth will you park it? As yet, there isn’t an official LEGO headquarters for the new film the way there was for the original. So what are fans to do? If you’re an intrepid LEGO Idea-haver, you present your version of the new HQ.

Firehouses aren’t the only place for fighters of spectral anomalies to spend their time, ya know—the new crew has their base of operations in and around a Chinese take-out place. Busting may make one feel good, but it also makes one crave a Kung Pao chicken, naamean?

The set (a LEGO idea, via io9) was created by user BaronSat on Monday and has a whole year to gather the necessary support to make it possibly become real. He claims the set will have three distinct compartments: the ground floor of the restaurant, with tables and chairs; the upper floor where all the busting of ghosts commences; and the garage, which is deliberately too small for the released new Ecto-1 to fit in (as per the movie’s joke).

So far, that’s the only picture he’s posted, but he promises once the movie comes out, and more of the location is actually seen, he’ll update the model with more detail and more photos. The success or not of the movie will likely contribute to whether this set gets its required petition signers, but BaronSat’s design is an unqualified winner.
