Fan Blog Travels To Filming Locations For ‘Sceneframing’ Photography

The art that comes out of fandom can be a marvelous thing to behold. Fan art, cosplay, fan film, and more are all forms of expression that stem from a love and devotion for something that has touched their lives, and a desire to leave their mark on it. While looking for a new and exciting way to express their love for films like the Harry Potter series, and TV shows such as Game Of Thrones or The Walking Dead, members of a blog known as Fangirl Quest have set about traveling to the locations where they were filmed. Sure, there are plenty of people who venture out to filming locations as a fun little vacation, but Fangirl Quest decided to give their trips an added twist with what they call “Sceneframing Photos.” This involved taking a picture at the location, and using a phone or a tablet to show a scene from that location in a show or movie, angled as if the viewer was looking at it in real life.

The Fangirl Quest blog was founded by three Finnish friends named Tiia, Satu, and Johanna. They decided, like many fans, to go on a road trip to see various locations that had been used in filming their favorite shows and movies, but added the twist of framing up specific scenes for their vacation photos. After their first trip around the UK, the online response from fellow fans for their work was enormous. Enough so that the girls were able to crowdfund a trip to and around North America for another series of photos. The concept is truly something unique, despite being so simple, and really give a surreal quality to their trips.
