Fan Art Friday #58 – JESSICA JONES

Marvel’s Jessica Jones dropped on Netflix two weeks ago. The series starring Krysten Ritter as the hot mess of a super-powered detective was dark, unsettling, and damn fine television. It made our best of TV list for 2015 because of its smart writing and excellent portrayal of women. A variety of women played into the story–the key word being variety. We saw different personality types and a range of relationships between female characters, and because that’s not as commonplace as it should be in the media, the series was refreshing as hell. When you combine the writing and that diversity with a compelling story and fantastic performances, well, you get something special.

Since I’ve already inhaled the series, I’m feeding my admiration for Jessica Jones with gifs and fan art. Netflix hasn’t announced whether the show is getting a second season, and if they do greenlight another go ’round, the air date could be a little ways off what with The Defenders needing to shoot at some point. It’s okay. I can be patient. Uh, I can try to be patient. It’s not always my best thing. Anyway! I’ve rounded up some art depicting the amazing Jessica for this week’s Fan Art Friday.

See more fan art in the gallery below. It’s pretty much all about Jessica for obvious reasons, but there’s a Kilgrave and a Luke Cage too.

Have you binged all of Jessica Jones yet? If so, head to the comments and tell me what you thought of the newest Marvel series.
