This is Halloween. Well, almost. The holiday is just over a week away, and Fan Art Friday seemed like a fine time to celebrate the Henry Selick and Tim Burton masterpiece that is The Nightmare Before Christmas. If you don’t think it’s a masterpiece, I don’t even know what to say. The film is full of incredibly detailed puppets and assets, it has a sweet love story, there’s Danny Elfman music–what more do you need? Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King, is utterly fantastic. Despite the fact that the story takes place in a world of holiday lands and legends, Jack’s path and arc is completely relatable. Aren’t we all just trying to find our place in the world? I just wish my place in the world involved flaming pumpkin heads and weird creepy crawlies.
