FAMILY GUY Pays Tribute to Adam West with 9-Minute Supercut

It just plain sucks when a beloved celebrity passes away. Though, in a way, the simple act of remembering what they gave to the world is their final gift to it. In the midst of our mourning we get to celebrate them in what becomes both a last hurrah to their talent and something that will continue on through time. The great Adam West passed away earlier this month and there’s been no shortage of tributes to his decades of work including this one put out from his friends and colleagues over at Family Guy.

This phenomenal supercut from Animation on FOX was brought to our attention via a recent article on io9 and is the perfect farewell to the man that the town of Quahog calls Mayor. His character on Family Guy was about as weird as it gets in a world that’s already beyond absurd with his role being less about governing a town and more about embodying some of the best non sequitur gags the show has ever done.

In the nearly nine-minute supercut, we get so much of Mayor Adam West’s oddball antics, in what appears to be mostly chronological order. West lent his voice, name, and willingness to self-parody to the show way back in the 1999 episode “Fifteen Minutes of Shame” and appeared in more than 100 episodes thereafter. While we’re sure Family Guy will continue to bring us laughs in future seasons, there will surely be something lacking without Adam West’s contributions.

We’ll miss you, Adam We!
