FALLOUT SHELTER is Being Advertised on Tinder

You’re going to want to grab a Nuka Cola and sit down for this one. Bethesda is apparently advertising Fallout Shelterthe hit mobile game that released on iOS a few months ago, and is now making the rounds on Android devices–on Tinder. But wait, you say? Isn’t Tinder a dating app? Yes, it is; and before you ask, yes, this is totally legit. Bethesda is the one who created the Vault Boy Profile everyone’s been talking about.

Just look at Vault Boy’s charming mug in the image above. With his slicked back hair and leather coat, he’s ready to charm the all the folks. His Tinder profile states that he’s 25, and enjoys “Nuka Cola, putting out fires, taking coffee breaks, and exploring the blasted wasteland.” As for his go-to pickup line, he’d probably use: “If love was radiation, I’d need a box of RadAways.” Wow, I mean, who wouldn’t swipe right? (amirite?)

Prefer a lady dweller instead? Bethesda’s got you covered.

The jury is still out on whether this second one is advertising same-sex dating–which isn’t available in the game. Also, I don’t know if there’s a description for her, but I’m sort of hoping she uses my favorite pick-up line from the game: “If I was a cat, I’d want to spend all 9 lives with you.” (Because cats!) As you can see from both images, Bethesda is promoting the Tinder ads on the official Fallout Twitter account with the tags #DateADweller and #SwipeRight.

According to one of Kotaku’s readers, if you click on the profile in the Tinder app, it directs you to a download link for Fallout Shelter. While many are suggesting that it would have been neat for the developer to take it a step further by allowing you to start up a conversation with a dweller, I think that would’ve been a bit too creepy.

Now that the mobile game is available on both iOS and Android, are you planning on passing the time before Fallout 4’s November 10 release by swiping right on Fallout Shelter? Let us know in the comments below.
