Diamond City Radio is about to get some serious play later this month. Bethesda has announced that the next Fallout 4 expansion, Far Harbor, will release on May 19 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. While the Automatron and Wasteland Workshop expansions seemed more like filler pieces than actual continuations to the Fallout 4 narrative, Far Harbor appears to be a full-sized story-based add-on. In other words, this is the big one, ladies and gentleman.
The chatty synthetic sleuth known as Nick Valentine is taking you on a journey that extends beyond the borders of the Commonwealth to Maine, or Far Harbor as it’s known in Fallout 4. You’ll find yourself locked in the middle of a power struggle between Far Harbor’s local townspeople, a new group of synths, and the Children of Atom, the religious cult that sees the atomic destruction of the Great War as a holy event. Something tells me that a full-on story arc with these gamma radiation-worshipping lunatics is going to have everyone popping RadAway like Flintstones vitamins. There’ll also be new faction quests, lethal creatures, and settlements to keep you very much occupied until the game’s next DLC add-on.
Those who don’t have the Fallout 4 season pass can pick up Far Harbor for $24.99, which may seem steep. However, Bethesda has proudly claimed this to be their largest piece of expansion content to date, so you’ll be getting the maximum amount of bang for your buck. That’s saying a lot when you consider how huge the Fallout 3: Point Lookout DLC was. To get a sense of its size and scope, check out several screenshots from Far Harbor in our gallery below.
