Extra Life 2015: 24 Hours of Video Games in The Name of Charity!

Extra Life is back again, baby! It’s time to channel your inner-most sleepless gaming abilities for the greater good of this nation’s children. We’re calling out to all folks with super insomniac powers to come join us this Saturday, October 24, as we’ll be spending an entire 24 hours playing video games to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. No Extra Life effort is complete without the assistance of good friends and great company, so we’re honored to be joined by many of our comrades, including Rocket Jump, Smosh Games, The Attack, The Young Turks, and a possible LA Lakers Forward who shall remain unnamed for now.

We’ve also got a few new activities in our Extra Life initiative… namely, the Funderdome Games. We’ll be throwing down in Rocket League, Niddhogg, and Mario Kart 8 tournaments throughout the course of the day, and the winners of each contest will receive a sweet prize to auction off to their respective Extra Life teams. Expect lots of “R.I.P. headphones” comments during these battles, since we’ll capturing the same high-energy spirit of competitiveness from our Friday Funderdome livestream.

The folks at Geek and Sundry kicked this year’s charity drive off in fantastic fashion, raising over $80k during their 12-hour marathon of tabletop gameplay. Now, Team Nerdist is grabbing the baton on a journey to eclipse the $100k mark in the name of children all over the country. As per usual with our Extra Life events, we’ll be giving away a slew of prizes to the folks who donate to us throughout the day.

We’d love for you to give a helping hand in reaching our goal. Keep in mind that any donations will be tax-deductible and all the proceeds will go to local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. If you want to join us on our Extra-Life adventure, feel free to join the Nerdist and Geek&Sundry crew on our official team page. But if pitching in financially is just something you can’t do, show your support by sporting our Twibbon across social media. Hope to see you there!
