Expand Your LEGO Springfield With Latest SIMPSONS Kwik-E-Mart Set

Save up your paper route money, folks, because May is bringing with it a brand new LEGO set from The Simpsons! Not only that, but the second wave of individual Minifigs is on its way too!

¡Ay, caramba!

The fully-featured Kwik-E-Mart set is smaller in stature than the previous set in the line, but it is every bit worth the $199 chunk of change you’ll be exchanging for it. The feature that impresses me most about this set–as well as the Simpsons’ family home set–is the level of interactivity achieved with hinges, allowing the models to open up for full access. Everyone knows a convenience store needs an inventory, and the included pieces for Kwik-E-Mart are as extensive as they are impressive. A Squishee machine, Buzz cola cans, magazines, newspapers, and even a donut for Chief Wiggum are included. The new set also comes complete with Chief Wiggum’s patrol car, which even has a functional trunk for stashing gear (or even other minifigs!) The top of the car is removable, so feel free to stick three of your existing Simpsons minifigs in the cabin for a joyride through your own LEGO Springfield. Six characters are included in the set, and Snake (A.K.A. Jailbird) will be exclusive to this set for the foreseeable future. Apu and Wiggum are obviously included, along with Bart, Homer, and Marge to round out the roster.

The second wave of individual blind packaged minifigs is a real boon to collectors. Figures include Marge’s sisters Patty & Selma, Bart as Bartman, Waylon Smithers, Hans Moleman, Edna Krabappel (R.I.P. Marcia Wallace,) Doctor Hilbert, Milhouse as “Fallout Boy,” The Comic Book Guy, Maggie, alternate Lisa, Marge & Homer figures, Groundskeeper Willie, Professor Frink, and Martin Prince. The second wave and the Kwik-E-Mart set are both scheduled to go on sale May 1st. Keep the LEGO store bookmarked!

    Chief Wiggum. Not Wiggums

  2. One of the greatest sets released. The detail and uniqueness adds a nice new twist to LEGO sets.
