Exclusive: Toys Have a Very Different Meaning in This KITE Clip

If there’s a lesson to be learned from modern action movies, it’s that seemingly innocuous little girls will almost always be able to kick your ass. Such is this exclusive clip from Kite, starring India Eisley, Callan McAuliffe, and Samuel L. Jackson. As I recently discussed on The Dan Cave, Hollywood adaptations of Japanese anime are on the rise, and one of the latest is Ralph Ziman’s Kite, an adaptation of Yasuomi Umetsu’s anime of the same name. The film follows the 18-year-old Sawa, an orphaned daughter of a police detective who was assassinated after investigating a human trafficking case. Now, working as a covert assassin, Sawa is hunting down the exploitative criminals that killed her parents, crossing names off her list one at a time.

In this exclusive clip, Sawa takes a unique approach to interrogation and proves you’re never too old for toys.

Yikes. Remind me never to piss anyone off if they’re wearing a Jessica Rabbit-red scarlet wig.

Kite is available on VOD now, and comes to theaters on October 10.
