With Fifty Shades of Grey bringing BDSM to the box office, it’s high time another movie parodied the erotic lit phenomenon. Enter The Dramatics: A Comedy, written by and starring Kat Foster and Scott Rodgers. The film stars Foster (of Weeds and Royal Pains) as Katie, a struggling young actress who gets her big break as the lead in a sexually explicit miniseries adaptation of the fictional bestseller The Master’s Maid. Unfortunately for her boyfriend Paul (Rodgers, who makes his directorial debut here), she finds her Oscar-winning co-star (Orange Is The New Black‘s Pablo Schreiber) is taking his own role just a little too seriously. In this clip, Paul, himself a director, takes his frustrations out on one of his actors, played by Garfunkel and Oates‘ Riki Lindhome.
Co-starring Sean Astin, Paul F. Tompkins, Thomas Sadoski, and Rosemarie DeWitt, The Dramatics: A Comedy is now available on VOD and other digital services.
