Let’s get ready to get Dumb again. Peter Farrelly has announced that Dumb and Dumber To is going to be a reality.
According to the Nerdist Podcast posting today, Farrelly will film Dumb and Dumber To in Atlanta later this summer for a release in summer 2014. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels have agreed to reprise their roles of Harry and Lloyd. This film will have nothing to do with Dumb and Dumberer, as the original twosome will wash our mouths of that horrible taste. Universal Pictures has finalized the distribution deal; Peter and Bobby Farrelly will direct the film using a script written by Sean Anders and John Morris.

I like to see the Two go into the Navy and get station on a ship that is going out on a six month deploymemt westpac cruise, With port visits in the far east. After a long night of partying in Bangkok the two miss the ships departure and end up staying with these two Thailand cross dressers who are about to lose their bar full of drag queens to this crazy wealthy spoiled Thailand gay mobster. The two adjust poorly to the new environment they are stuck in, but end up turning the bar into a Vegas style night club with special guest that stop in like Rupaul, Larry the cabel guy and Joan rivers. After running out of good entertainment the two must do whatever they can to keep the club from goiing under and falling into the gay mobster hands. Months go by before another Naval ship stops in Thailand. But when one does, the
two come up with a plan to get these two sailors drunk and steel there ID cards and assume there identity to get on the ship and get back home to the states. Only to find out that they are just two cooks in the gallery who are stoners waiting to be discharged when they get back from there six month westpac cruise.

I’m tentatively excited about this. I adore Something About Mary, Kingpin, Dumb & Dumber and Me Myself & Irene, but these were all made over a decade ago. They haven’t released anything good in so long. They better not screw this up!

I really just wish they would let the franchise die. Some movies should be a one time thing. Two guys being really dumb barely carried one movie. Besides, Jim Carey is kind of a monster…

Let the Jim Carrey Career Resurgence continue! He was good in Burt Wonderstone. Look like he will be good/great in Kick Ass 2. .

Meh. I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t NEED a sequel. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad to see the original actors and writer/director on board, but it feels like an unnecessary film. Maybe I’m just a burned out comedy fan, but screw the generation who may have never heard of Dumb and Dumber, make a new project Farrelly bros!
I really think this will turn out awesome. Original writer/director and cast…..how can this not be great?
