Exclusive: Oni Press’ and Joshua Hale Fialkov’s THE LIFE AFTER Variant Cover

After the unexpected but well deserved success of Joshua Hale Fialkov‘s excellent The Bunker, Oni Press is teaming up with the writer to bring you The Life After. Featuring art by Gabo, the book tells the story of a man named Jude, a largely unremarkable man with a largely remarkable gift that enables him to wake up other people on the other side of this mortal coil. Set in the afterlife, Jude travels with his guide Ernest Hemingway on a coming of age story for the ages.

Here’s the official description:

In an infinite city built on infinite sadness, there is one man capable of breaking free. He will go through Heaven and Hell to save us all. Literally. A fantastical coming of age journey through the afterlife and beyond from Joshua Hale Fialkov (THE BUNKER, THE ULTIMATES) and breakout artist Gabo.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, thanks to our pals at Oni Press, we have your exclusive first look at the variant cover by Gabo.

  1. MonsterXero2011 says:

Meh, should have brought back the Axe Cop artist.

I’ll check it out though, been waiting a long time to find out what happens.  The webcomic format got really old.

  2. Wallingford says:

I read somewhere that this is a sequel or spinoff to a Jesus Christ webcomic.  It’s the same artist and everything.  Gratz on continuing the story in print!

I can’t wait to see Busey and Jesus and the rest of the characters.  But why does God not look like Marlon Brando anymore?
