If you thought all there was to actor Richard Madden was Robb Stark on Game of Thrones, think again. While the Scottish heartthrob won a legion of fans for playing the King of the North on the HBO’s hit adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, he’s also won acclaim for his roles in the UK series Sirens, the 2010 thriller Chatroom, and last year’s Discovery Channel miniseries Klondike. But he’s set to garner more admirers than ever with his turn as the dashing Prince opposite Lily James heroine in Disney’s new live-action Cinderella, directed by Kenneth Branagh.
We caught up with Madden on the red carpet premiere to ask him about playing a Disney prince, how he brought such an iconic character to the twenty-first century, and what’s coming up next for him.
Cinderella opens in theaters everywhere today.
