Who doesn’t want a little budding romance in the summer time? Well, get ready because we have an exclusive preview of one of the exciting new comics from Rosy Press that is coming out today! In case you’ve forgotten, Rosy Press is the independent publishing imprint that we told you about in March as part of our Pickstarter series. Their kickstarter was totally successful, and today is the release of their second issue of the monthly digital comic monthly Fresh Romance. We’re lucky enough to have an exclusive preview of the new installment of The Ruby Equation.
The Ruby Equation is being written by Sarah Kuhn with art by Sally Jane Thompson, color by Savanna Ganucheau and lettering from Steve Wands. So far, we’ve met Ruby, the barista on a mission to bring love to her clientele, and we’ve learned a little bit about the nature of her mission, but we’re still waiting to meet the objects of her task. The pages below will give you a really great taste of the writing and great artwork that Kuhn and Thompson have been working on for readers.
Because what would an exclusive be without all the perks, I can say that I’ve had the chance to read the new issue of Fresh Romance already and these pages are just a tease of the wonderfulness to come. If you’re a fan of comics OR a fan of romance OR a fan of both, you should probably run out and subscribe to this immediately. I cannot wait to see what happens with Ruby and the rest of the characters that Rosy Press is bringing to life. And in the mean time, I’m going to get my digital life together, sign up for Spotify, and spend eight hours listening to the playlist that was carefully curated by Rosy Press’s EOC Janelle Asselin.
That’s right. Eight hours of songs that are all revolving around the central theme of the ever infuriating and intoxicating nature of the crush. It includes everything from “Clavicle” by Alkaline Trio to “If You Could Only See” by Trio to “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” by The Beach Boys. You should probably also go and listen to it too, if I’m being honest. Asselin really does have excellent taste in music. And then go subscribe to Rosy Press because you are going to want to keep up with these great comics!
