EXCLUSIVE: Fan-Made “Man of Steel” Opening Credits Pack a Punch

Most of us can’t wait to see some of the summer’s biggest blockbusters, but have you ever been so eager to see a film that, instead of waiting, you created a mock opening title sequence for it? We didn’t think so, but fortunately for us, someone did. Inspired by popular home-brewed credit sequences for films like X-Men: First Class and The Adventures of Tintin, Los Angeles-based commercial production company Will & Tale decided to undertake a passion project of their own by crafting an incredible opening credit sequence for Zack Snyder’s hotly anticipated Man of Steel from the ground up. In a blog post, the company reveals that while they were furiously working in their Fortress of Solitude, no preexisting footage from Man of Steel was used; the video was built with a composite of 2D, 3D and original live-action filming. Hell, they even had an original song composed for the film! All we have to say is, “Sweet mother of Krypton!” Forget Zod; we’re going to kneel before these guys.

Pay no attention to the Kryptonian behind the curtain! Or do, if you’re curious, and take a look at some of the concept art and before/after shots that shed some light on how Will & Tale devised some of the trickier shots, all of which were built from scratch.
