We’re all very excited to see what Gal Gadot brings to the role of Diana Prince, a.k.a the mighty Wonder Woman, in the new batch of DC Cinematic Universe films beginning with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and eventually her own standalone movie directed by Michelle MacLaren. Partially, our excitement comes from that that, with the exception of an ill-fated TV pilot and various unofficial short films, Wonder Woman hasn’t been a live action character since Lynda Carter twirled and lassoed her way into the American lexicon. Some fans still think of this, and its jaunty, disco-y theme song, as the best version of the character.
DC Comics knows this and has allowed that version of the character, with its post-Watergate mentality and glittery gold everything, to live on in the form of Wonder Woman ’77, a monthly ongoing digital-first series written by Marc Andreyko which has already put the Amazonian heroine into a lot of danger. With Chapter 2, out today in digital platforms, she looks to be up against some creepy zombified peoples.
Chapter 2 features art by Drew Johnson and Matt Haley and is available for download right now via DC Comics app, Readdcentertainment.com, ComiXology.com, Google Play, Kindle Store, Nook Store, iBooks and iVerse ComicsPLUS.
She really is a wonder, Wonder Woman. A shame these images don’t offer up illustrated images of Lyle Waggoner, but they have to save something for the download. Let us know your thoughts on this title in the comments below!
