Exclusive: DC Comics SWAMP THING #37 Preview

Judging by the first six pages of Swamp Thing #37, things are not going so well for ol’ Swampy as the Machine Queen ascends to her throne and continues to assemble her nefarious army. Alec Holland is already at odds with the Machine Kingdom, but his humanity will only give him an edge for so long before they adapt and strike back. Naturally, with time running out and a truly horrific-looking surgical procedure in the first few pages, Swamp Thing will have his work cut out for him, not to mention a visit from John Constantine too. You know, they say you’re not supposed to shoot the messenger, but Constantine makes it awfully difficult considering the typical caliber of message he delivers.

Swamp Thing #37, written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Jesus Saiz, hits store shelves this Wednesday, December 3, but to help whet your appetite, we have an exclusive preview courtesy of DC Comics.

Swamp Thing 37 - Cover

Here’s the official synopsis: “’The Machine Queen’ part 3! Lines are drawn and strange allies are recruited as the Machine Queen assembles her army, while Anton Arcane and the Fungal Avatar take sides! Plus, Swamp Thing receives a dire visit from John Constantine!”

I love this comic series! They folded Swamp Thing into the main DC Universe with the new 52. Instead of a horror comic, it is now more heroic. Always a great story. I don’t know how they do it.
