In Superman: Future’s End #1, by Dan Jurgens and Lee Weeks, we see that Metropolis isn’t quite the bustling center of culture and progress that it once was. Leering drunks walk the streets with open beer bottles, and a mysterious new figure is masquerading as Superman. He’s still saving the day, but he’s less spit curl and more angsty.
