We’re at the halfway point now for DC’s Earth 2: World’s End weekly series, as all things begin to head towards Convergence, and the situation is growing increasingly grim for the poor inhabitants of the alternate world. It has taken a serious and brutal pounding from Darkseid’s forces during his second invasion of the planet.
When last we left the Earth’s superheroes (or “Wonders” as they’re known on Earth-2) everyone was in pretty dire straits; The Atom is dead, and Apokolips has infected the Earth with its own dark and twisted nature, killing millions, including Helena Wayne, a.k.a. The Huntress. Luckily for Helena, her grandfather is Dr. Thomas Wayne, who took on the mantle of that Earth’s Batman after his son Bruce died, and he removed the evil taking over his granddaughter. But was Huntress saved just in time to see her world die? Before you pick up the next issue on Wednesday, check out our exclusive preview of issue #18, as our heroes regroup and try one last attempt to save their world…
Here’s the official synopsis: “As Apokolips burns, Green Lantern falls â and the Earth is left unprotected.” Earth-2: World’s End #18 is brought to you by writers Mike Johnson, Marguerite Bennett, and Daniel H. Wilson, and artists Jorge Jimenez, Paulo Siqueira, Robson Rocha, and Jack Herbert, with cover art by Guillem March.
