Exclusive: Dark Horse Comics’ SECRET FILES OF PROJECT BLACK SKY #3 Preview

Writer Fred Van Lente is no stranger to taking pop culture tropes, deconstructing them, and skewering them like so many meats and vegetables on a tiny wooden spear. Recently, he’s been tackling America’s obsession with rock stars and celebrity culture in Valiant’s Archer & Armstrong, and now he’s setting his sights on superhero tropes in Dark Horse Comics‘ excellent Secret Files of Project Black Sky, a free web comic set in Dark Horse’s revived Project Black Sky universe that subverts classic superhero stories and offers a brand new PBS spin on them.

After taking on the Fantastic Four, Van Lente is getting ready to give Green Lantern the Project Black Sky treatment with the “The Ring,” a Steve Ellis-illustrated story of the ring bearer of 4182… and what happens when he finally comes to Earth. The story kicks off in earnest this Thursday, but thanks to our pals at Dark Horse, we have an exclusive preview for you.

Honestly, why can’t we scroll through images like any other website here?  Why do I have to click on each one separately, then go back, etc.
