Slasher Girls and Monster Boys is like professional fanfiction all grown up. Forget the old xanga posts, this looks like a solid collection of work from some of the top YA writers out there. The stories are largely inspired by classic horror stories. Anthology curator April Tucholke’s story “Canary” springs from Stephen King’s Carrie, while Lois Duncan’s I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Slasher Girls and Monster Boys hits shelves this summer. Contributors include: Marie Lu (the Legend series), Carrie Ryan (The Forest of Hands and Teeth series), Kendare Blake, Cat Winters, Stefan Bachmann, Leigh Bardugo, A. G. Howard, Jay Kristoff, Jonathan Maberry, Megan Shepherd, Nova Ren Suma, McCormick Templeman, Danielle Page, and others.
