BOOM! Studios Unveils MUNCHKIN: DECK THE DUNGEONS Holiday Special Covers

We may still be sweating out the remaining days of summer, but BOOM! Studios is already dreaming of a white Christmas. Or perhaps, more accurately, they’re dreaming of a Christmas filled with dungeon-crawling, hacking, slashing, and all manner of medieval madness. The latter is probably more accurate because come this December, BOOM! Studios will be releasing Munchkin: Deck the Dungeons, a holiday-themed one-shot comic set in the world of Munchkin.

Releasing through their BOOM! Box imprint, Munchkin: Deck the Dungeons will be written by Katie Cook (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) and illustrated by Mike Luckas (Skull Kickers). The issue is going to put a decidedly demented spin on the Charles Dickens holiday classic, A Christmas Carol. You know, I’ve always said to myself that there wasn’t enough looting and pillaging in that story…

While you’ll have to wait until December to get your hot little hands on the 48-page book, we have an exclusive preview of the covers by Ian McGinty and Katie Cook for your viewing pleasure. But first, take a peek at the official synopsis below:

“Charles Dickens is turning in his grave as Katie Cook (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic) and Mike Luckas (Skull Kickers) put a Munchkin-sized spin on A Christmas Carol. Tour the Dungeons of Past, Present, and Future! No one learns anything, obviously, except to pillage, steal and stab others in the back in the spirit of Christmas.”

Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about. Maybe they’ll encounter a Level 20 Ebeneezer Scrooge too.

Munchkin: Deck the Dungeons is available this December. In the meantime, feed your need for RPG-style action by watching this epic Let’s Play of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition with the Nerdist crew:
