The gorgeously illustrated series finds the World’s Finest facing off against themselves, coming face-to-face with alternate reality versions of themselves that are older, wiser and hellbent on destroying the crystal weapon that our Batman and Superman were sent to retrieve to stop Darkseid. But when you throw pufferfish paralysis toxin, Slade Wilson, and multiple versions of Bats and Supes into the mix, you know that you’re sitting on a powderkeg that’s destined to explode.

This is good. The depiction of the characters is nice. Seeing a more mature version of themselves is a great way to go.
I haven’t paid a heck of a lot of attention to this series, but I like what I’m seeing. I like how Superman is depicted as impatient instead of stupid is an improvement on what a lot of people have done in the past. The banter between the two characters is fun, and I love the frustration that young Bats and Supes are going through while fighting their older selves.
i think in order to really appreciate this story you should be a reader of Earth 2 , by james robinson – > if you don’t understand now, you will later for sure
I completely agree with The BIg Don. It’s tough to get a grasp on the story. I give it credit for being unique, because I have never seen a Bat/Supe story like it, but something about it makes me feel like its a fringe book as opposed to a mainstream book. But hey… I am a super fan so I will keep reading until its gone. Its better than nothing.
Read the first three issues and i’m still not sure what the hell is going on. Not a fan of the solid color yellow and orange backgrounds at times either. I can deal with the unique artwork, but not when it hinders the advancement and clarity of the story, which unfortunately I believe it does.
