Excelsior! Stan Lee to Appear on an Upcoming MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

It was only a matter of time, but as sure as Galactus will try to devour the planet, Stan Lee will be appearing on an upcoming episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC. Details about the role remain unclear, but Lee told The Hollywood Reporter that it’s “a big role.” The episode with Lee, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, is likely to air on February 4th, although that date is subject to change. Who will he play? The Watcher? Grandpa Coulson? A Centipede-powered villain known as “The Invincible Mustache”?

Since he first appeared as a hot dog vendor in 2000’s X-Men, Lee has made  “a million cameos” in every Marvel property from The Avengers to the Spider-Man films to the Iron Man trilogy. This isn’t his first stint doing primetime TV, either; he played himself on The Big Bang Theory. In addition to the forthcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. appearance, Lee will be tackling his first starring role in Stan Lee’s Mighty 7, an animated film in which he takes a group of superheroes under his wing while writing about their exploits in comic books. The film is set to premiere on February 1st on the Hub Network at 8pm, so go ahead and set your DVRs now.

he’ll be The Clairvoyant. trust me, I’m good at these things

  2. Ben says:

Seeing as he’s had so many cameos, it would be great if he showed up as Multiple Man, but I think Fox has rights to him with the X-Men. Maybe there’s another character like that I’m not aware of, or maybe they’ll just create one.

  3. Papalito says:

Watcher or God as he “created” the Marvel universe or the Watcher as he decidesd if the what if… Happens and impacts the future episodes or not

  4. fancycwabs says:

    * For movies in which Stan Lee appears.

  5. fancycwabs says:

Well, the Law of Stan Lee Cameos clearly states that the quality of a given Marvel Franchise movie* is inversely proportional to the length or importance of Stan Lee’s Cameo in it, so this is terrible news.
