Ewan McGregor’s Lumiere Plays Cupid in New BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Clip

Cupid, draw back your bow, because the most charming candelabra in cinema history is at it again in the latest clip from Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. Also in today’s Movie Morsels, we’ve got big casting news on the live-action Dumbo, Ryan Gosling‘s Neil Armstrong biopic gets itself a release date, and lots more filmic fun for you folks!

Beauty and the Beast

With all due respect to Cogsworth, Chip, and Mrs. Potts, the best of the Beast’s servants in Beauty and the Beast was, is, and will always be that incorrigible Frenchman Lumiere. I mean, who doesn’t love a lover, right? Well, in our latest clip from the live-action remake of the Disney classic, ol’ Lumi takes center stage as he rallies the other servants to begin planning for Belle and the Beast to fall for one another. Ewan McGregor does a great job of making the character distinct from his original animated incarnation. No mean feat given our fond memories of the animated classic…

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children explains the loop

And speaking of charming French folks, how much does Tim Burton love working with Eva Green? So much so that after casting the actress in Dark Shadows and the title role of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Burton is in talks to give his muse a role in his presumably less gothy live-action remake of Disney’s Dumbo. No word yet on who Green would play, but she’s said to be up for one of three adult roles in the film.

Based on the book by James Hansen — First Man: The Life Of Neil A. Armstrong — the film now has a release date. We can watch Armstrong take a small step for man and a giant leap for mankind on the big screen on October 12, 2018, just in time for awards season.

When I look at the Just Cause graphic above, I  gotta admit I see Gerard Butler starring in the film adaptation of the hit Square Enix video game. But hey, give the man a haircut and I bet Jason Momoa can fill the role just as nicely! Yes, the Justice League star will indeed headline the adaptation, which will be helmed by San Andreas director Brad Peyton. The film is expected to feature rough-and-tumble agent Rico Rodriguez’s “crisis of conscience” in the midst of a mission for the shadowy Agency.

While Logan is garnering much praise for its thoughtful drama and kick-ass action, a lot of folks might be wondering about the distinct lack of X-Men in the movie. So in the latest edition of Nerdist News, we take a look at what happened to all the mutants in Logan.
