Even Pixelated, These GAME OF THRONES Deaths Cut REAL Deep

SPOILERS, folks. Spoilers. Because all men must die and that’s exactly what this video is about: the deaths of Game of Thrones. You know the ones: the really crappy, heart-hurty ones that made you gasp or yell, “Oooh nooooo!” when they happened on screen or in print (or both). So don’t say we didn’t warn y’all, mmkay?

Hooo boy, folks. Want to feel some feels for a second? Want to relive the most gruesome and brutal deaths of Westeros in adorably pixelated form? Welp, then the above video is especially for you. Coming at you from the delightful nerds at Pipoca VFX, the 2D animated bit of business has every death that’s decimated your heart — or made you jump for joy — in the past five seasons. We’re talking Viserys getting his golden crown, Ned Stark’s beheading, that goddamn Red Wedding, The Mountain versus Oberyn Martell, the burning of poor, dear Shireen at the stake, and Tyrion’s takedown of Tywin on the toilet.

Honestly, it makes the whole, emotionally torturous thing go down a heck of a lot easier. Because isn’t death cuter when it’s made out of 8-bit pixels?

The clip was Directed and edited by Filipe Costa of Pipoca VFX, with 2D art and animation by Matheus Muniz, music and sound design by Paulo Bohrer II.

Which deaths would you like to see in their next iteration? Let’s hear it in the comments.
