Even Pixar’s Biggest Fan Can Learn Something with These 101 Facts

When you watch a Pixar film, do you keep an eye out for the Pizza Planet truck? Do you know how many Academy Awards the studio has won? Did you know Steve Jobs almost sold Pixar to Microsoft? Maybe you know all of that, but even then there’s probably a lot you don’t know about the beloved animation studio, which is why this video, “101 Facts About Pixar,” is a must watch for any fan.

The video is another installment from the folks behind the YouTube account 101Facts, and it covers a wide array of items, including lots of information about the studio and the people behind it, from its origins, to Steve Jobs’ purchase of the company from George Lucas, to even how many computers they use to make a movie. However, it also has plenty of cool facts about the films themselves, like where and why they slip “A113” into some of their movies, and how Buzz Lightyear was almost called “Lunar Larry.”

There’s a lot here, and there’s plenty of great items for those of you that know very little about Pixar outside of liking its films, like how initially under Steve Jobs it was focused on computer graphic systems for the medical community and not animation. There are also plenty of things even for those of you that consider yourself Pixarphiles, like how Toy Story 2 was accidentally deleted and almost lost completely.
