Epic STRANGER THINGS Fan Poster Takes You to the Upside Down

In a summer of extreme sequelitis, Stranger Things was the breath of fresh air we were all waiting for. It was something brand new, yet completely familiar at the same time. The show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, left no stone unturned as they mined the pop culture of the 1980s for inspiration.

Stranger Things had references to the the films of Steven Spielberg, Stephen King, and many others, but was also filled with references to popular touchstones of the era like Dungeons & Dragons, He-Man and whole lot more. Much like George Lucas did in 1977 with Star Wars, the Duffers combined all this disparate elements into something that felt new and fresh, and we all fell in love with it.

Ever since the show dropped on Netflix this past July, the series has also inspired tons of amazing fan art all across the internet. Now the latest is a retro style poster from Fro Design Company (a.k.a. artist Fernando Reza), which actually seems as much inspired by movie posters of the ’80s as it does the book covers to the popular Choose Your Own Adventure young adult novels that were all the rage at the time.

The piece is called “The Upside Down,” and prominently features the boys of the Hawkins Middle School Elementery A.V. Club, as well as our  teenage heroes Nancy and Jonathan. They’re all centered around the powerful young girl with considerable mental abilities who goes by the name Eleven. Of course, the scary-as-hell Demagorgon is lurking about too. (But once again, where is BARB???)

“The Upside Down” is available now as an 18″ by 24″ giclee, printed on archival paper, and is only available in a limited edition of 50, each of which is hand signed and numbered. You can order the poster now by clicking right here.

What do you think of this amazing fan art? Is it enough to tide you over until season two? Let us know down below in the comments.
