Dope, the Sundance smash hit from writer/director Rick Famuyiwa, debuted over the weekend to even more critical acclaim and is shaping up to be one of 2015’s most promising indie flicks. The film follows Malcolm (Shameik Moore), a high school student “carefully surviving life in a tough neighborhood in Los Angeles while juggling college applications, academic interviews, and the SAT.” A mixup with a drug dealer leads Malcom and his friends down a byzantine path to greatness. Dope also stars The Grand Budapest Hotel‘s Tony Revolori, Kiersey Clemons, Kimberly Elise, ASAP Rocky, Workaholics‘ Blake Anderson, Keith Stanfield, Chamel Iman, Quincy Brown, and Zoe Kravitz. And in honor of the film’s release, we’ve got a dope (wink/sprry) prize pack to giveaway!
The pack includes a Dope T-shirt, a pair of Dope headphones, an official film poster, sunglasses, and stickers. Considering the Dope’s impressive soundtrack, which features music from Nas, Digable Planets, A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, and Awreeoh, we’re holding this contest via Nerdist Music. Simply follow the Nerdist Music Twitter account and retweet our giveaway for a chance to win. Contest ends Thursday, June 25 at midnight.Â
