Did you know that Kim Jong Il made his very own Godzilla movie? Would you be surprised if I said the making-of involved kidnapping and extortion? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Learn that and more in Nerdist Alliance creator EmergencyAwesome‘s informative and fun breakdown of the mightiest kaiju’s celluloid universe.
Enlightening, right? Now you’re primed with all the information you need to have a deep appreciation of the background and historical complexity of Godzilla when you hit up the multiplex for Gareth Edwards’s take on Godzilla next weekend.

5. Godzilla: Final Wars… Big G fights everyone! Takes down U.S. version in shortest fight scene ever. 4. Godzilla vs. King Kong… Always a favorite when I was a kid. 3. Godzilla vs. Megalon… Terrible story, but I love Jet Jaguar (and his theme song)!! 2. Godzilla vs. Destoroyah… Death scene was very well done. 1. Godzilla vs. Hedorah… The only monster in any of the movies that actually scared me as a kid. PLUS (sing along)… Save the Earth…
#5 Godzilla (1954) , #4 Destroy All Monsters, #3 Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster, #2 Godzilla vs. Monster Zero, #1 Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (sense a trend? fav monster after Godzilla is Ghidorah)
Almost completely agree. I’d only move Destroy All Monsters to #1, and keep the others in the same order.
