Elijah Wood and Melanie Lynskey Talk I DON’T FEEL AT HOME IN THIS WORLD ANYMORE

While Macon Blair’s directorial debut, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, may have a title longer than Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy, it is one of the funniest, sweetest, and most unexpectedly violent films I’ve seen in a long time. Say that five times fast. Actually, don’t. Just watch it. After all, we weren’t the only ones who liked it; it took home the Grand Jury Prize at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The comedic revenge thriller stars Melanie Lynskey as Ruth, a woman who is determined to get justice after her home is broken into, and Elijah Wood as Tony, a sweet weirdo with a ponytail and nunchaku who joins Ruth on her quest for vengeance. The best part? You can watch it now on Netflix!

While at Sundance, I braved the elements–both Honda and weather-related–to sit down with Melanie Lynskey and Elijah Wood where we talked about their oddly charming characters, their favorite moments on set, and how thoroughly Wood had to train with nunchaku for the film. They were also gracious enough to contribute to our Ultimate Indie Movie Mad Libs, in which they helped us construct the 2018 Sundance winner alongside the likes of Mark Hamill, Jessica Williams, St. Vincent, Jorma Taccone, Jaime King, Jason Ritter, Kumail Nanjiani, and many more.

I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore is available now on Netflix.
