The tense symphonic thriller Grand Piano finally has a trailer. Elijah Wood and John Cusack play a game of high stakes cat and mouse, albeit one where the mouse can’t leave his piano and must complete the most difficult piece of music ever arranged. Wood plays Tom Selznick, the lone student capable of playing a master composer’s most difficult piece. But there is more to the story than even Tom knows, and an assassin has his eye on Tom until the the final note.
The movie had its North American bow at Fantastic Fest in Austin, where it showed promise for its incredible tension and terrific performances. The film ultimately plays like a strange combination of High Noon, Phone Booth, and (insert believe-in-yourself-music-film of your choice here).
Here’s the official synopsis:
Elijah Wood plays Tom Selznick, the most talented pianist of his generation, who has stopped performing in public because of his stage fright. Years after a catastrophic performance, he reappears in public for a long awaited concert in Chicago. In a packed theater, in front of an expectant audience, Tom finds a message written on the score: âPlay one wrong note and you die.â In the sights of an anonymous sniper (Cusack), Tom must get through the most difficult performance of his life and look for help without being detected.
What do you think? Are you excited for Grand Piano?
Thank you, I’ve just been looking for info approximately this topic
for a while and yours is the best I have came upon till now.
However, what in regards to the bottom line? Are
you positive in regards to the source?
Going for Elijah, staying for the music.
Now, this would be perfect if Cusack is playing his character from Grosse Pointe Blank.
