Edgar Allan Poe Throws a Literary Murder Mystery Dinner Party

UPDATE: The fully-funded finished run of Poe Party is now available! Watch the entire murder mystery right here:

How would you like to attend a murder mystery dinner party for the ages? Shipwrecked Comedy is pulling one together, and it’s not just any shindig. Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party will spin off of Shipwrecked’s A Tell Tale Vlog to feature Edgar Allan Poe (Sean Persaud) and Lenore (Sinead Persaud) throwing a dinner party to try to woo Annabel Lee. Poe’s guests won’t just be random faces. No. He’s inviting a bevy of legendary authors to the feast. In order to throw the best dinner party/make the best web series possible, Shipwrecked is turning to Kickstarter to raise funds for the endeavor.

Ready to learn more? This video conveniently spells it out:

They’re revealing dinner party guests as funds are raised and the following are already confirmed in addition to Edgar and Lenore: Annabel Lee (Mary Kate Wiles), Ernest Hemingway (Joey Richter), Charlotte Brontë (Ashley Clements), and H.G. Wells (Blake Silver). You can see posters highlighting the characters in the gallery below.

Money raised on Kickstarter for the web series written by Sean and Sinead Persaud go towards paying the cast and crew, the location, insurance, and other fun production-related costs—but not ravens. The dinner party will expand the A Tell Tale Vlog series beyond Edgar and Lenore and go outside the single room they usually use. You can back the project on levels from $5 to $10,000. Neat! Lower levels will get digital and physical invitations to the gathering and access to behind the scenes vlogs, while higher levels will get an actual meal with the cast and crew and a producer credit. Fancy!

Will you be RSVP’ing for the murder mystery dinner party by backing t he project? Let me know in the comments.
