Ed Harris Returning to WESTWORLD for Season 2, and More TV News

It’s Monday, but for many of you, it’s a brief work week that will fly right by. We can do this, right? Right. Take a few to catch up on news with me, so you can be prepared for all the conversations about TV on Thanksgiving. Today’s TV-Cap has news about Ed Harris and season two of Westworld, a new clip from the Doctor Who Christmas special, a trailer for the LEGO Frozen television series, and more.

He’s Back. HBO recently announced Westworld was renewed for season two, and we now know that Ed Harris will be returning. If you noticed, he mentioned in Sunday’s Westworld that the “world” wasn’t the only one he owned. That line paired with this news makes me suspect we’ll be traveling to other realms in the second season. Harris dropped the news of his plans to return during an appearance on BBC Radio 4, on which he said [he] “will be involved” with a second season. Do you think he’ll be back as the Man in Black, or could Ford possibly do something like make a host based on the Man in Black? [Slashfilm]

Invasion Time! The heroes of Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow are going to be battling aliens next week. Seeing photos of all the heroes together is making me even more excited about “Invasion!” There are going to be so many fun dynamics. A new preview shows Diggle’s reaction to Supergirl, and it’s fantastic. Watch it here at Nerdist and see more photos from the crossover at TVLine. [Images: The CW]

Happy Christmas! Christmas Day means a lot of pleasant things, including the Doctor Who Christmas special. It will be our first new Who episode in what feels like forever, and it’s going to have a superhero. Yeah, I’m excited about “The Return of Doctor Mysterio.” See a clip from the special above and then read some speculation from Alicia here at Nerdist.

Mathematical Recipes. If you find yourself craving food after watching Adventure Time, then you’ll be pleased to hear there’s an official Adventure Time cookbook to help you fully immerse yourself in the Land of Ooo. And hey, we have an exclusive recipe from the upcoming cookbook here at Nerdist.

Oh, LEGO Humor. Ready to return to the world of Frozen? Disney’s new series of animated LEGO shorts featuring the characters from Arendelle are about ready to debut, so they’ve released a trailer. The shorts look to have the heart of the film blended with LEGO’s particular brand of humor. LEGO Frozen Northern Lights will premiere on December 9. [Oh My Disney]

One More. Stranger Things has added another cast member for season two: Brett Gelman. He’s set to play a former journalist, current conspiracy theorist looking into a case in Hawkins. [The Hollywood Reporter]

The Palladinos Dish. TVLine was on the red carpet for the premiere of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and got some time with the executive producers Amy Sherman Palladino and Daniel Palladino. In the above clip, they specifically talk about Melissa McCarthy on set and what it was like to have Sookie back. Also: we get Gilmore Girls back on November 25. Guys! [TVLine]

Rumor Who? Need some Doctor Who rumor discussion in your life today? The latest Nerdist News so has you covered. Jessica Chobot discusses what some gossip about series 11 could possibly mean. [Nerdist]

Recap of Recaps. Even when you think you catch every detail a show has to offer, it’s good to get a fresh perspective. You might pick up something you missed when you read a recap, so go ahead and check out what we noticed in the latest episodes of Dirk Gently, Star Wars Rebels, The Walking Dead, and Westworld. And if you’re in the mood for a review, read Luke’s thoughts on Search Party.

What role do you think the Man in Black will play in Westworld in season two? Tell me in the comments.
