Eat Like THE BOXTROLLS With Us at San Diego Comic-Con!

One of the best parts of heading down to San Diego Comic-Con is getting to experience the gastronomic delights and local dives that populate the bustling Gaslamp District. Sure you can fritter away your valuable time on Yelp, reading passive-aggressive reviews about lackluster Cobb salads and can’t-miss vichysoisses, but isn’t there a better way? Well, today you’re in luck because we’re hosting a special The Boxtrolls food truck from 3-4PM Friday at Petco Park (where you can also play Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel-themed Nerdist Laser Tag) and giving you a chance to eat like the Boxtrolls.

You may be saying to yourself, “But Dan, don’t the Boxtrolls chow down on all manner of creepy crawlies, insects, and other things with way too many legs?” Okay, you’ve got me there, but we’re going to have Bug Chef David George Gordon on hand to whip up some gourmet edible bug creations, and we’re giving you a chance to win some incredible Comic-Con exclusives. Yeah, that’s right, I dropped the “E” word. The first twenty-five (25) people who come by the truck and mention that “Nerdist sent them” will get a limited edition Shoe character poster signed by actor Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Game of Thrones).

“What limited edition poster?” You ask. This limited edition poster that we are revealing exclusively.

Plus, if you think you’re a bad enough dude or dudette to eat like a Boxtroll, and you share a photo of you chowing down on some sweet, sweet bugs on social media, use the hashtag #EatLikeTheBoxtrolls for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the premiere in Los Angeles. Travel isn’t provided, but if you’re bold enough to stuff your face full of bugs, then we’re confident you’ll be able to make your way to LA. In the meantime, start prepping your palate for some seriously salubrious flavors, and use this handy map to find out where to go next Friday.
