Drift Off To Sleep With Your Own Thunderstorm Light

Have you ever had a hard time falling asleep after a long day, or possibly several hours of binge watching Netflix? It seemed like nothing could help you relax and turn off your brain now that you are trying to process an entire season of House Of Cards all at once. That Frank Underwood sure is something, huh? Well, if this is an issue that you have dealt with, there were probably a few different things you could have done to fall asleep. Counted backwards from 100, tried breathing exercises, or dosed yourself with NyQuil. (NOTE: THIS METHOD IS NOT RECOMMENDED NOR ENDORSED BY THE NERDIST)

Maybe you were lucky enough to have a thunderstorm come through, you might have listened to it for a little while and had it lull you to sleep. There are some oddly calming effects thunderstorms can have on people, but what is one to do if there isn’t a storm during bedtime? Thankfully there is an answer to that now. Meet the thunder cloud lamp.

Created by Richard Clarkson Studios, the light includes colorful flashing lights and a speaker inside of a cloud made of hypoallergenic fiberfill that recreates the sounds and sights of a thunder cloud. It is motion activated, the sensitivity of which can be adjusted, and also Bluetooth capable, so you can play music through it too. Take a look at one running through its various modes below.

So how much would something like this run? Sadly, the interactive version runs $3,360. Yeah, I know, my heart sank too. A non-interactive version can also be purchased for only $960. Not exactly cheap, but definitely a drop. To see more about the cloud light, check out the original article on canyouactually.com. What do you think? Is this something you could see hanging in your bedroom one day? Would you be more willing to try a DIY version that is more affordable? Let us know in the comments below.
