Even if you’re the biggest anime and Goku fan in North America, and you’ve read, seen, and played every title in the Dragon Ball franchise, you will have a chance to do something you’ve never done before next month. Two classic Dragon Ball Z titles will be shown in movie theaters for the first time.
Fathom Events and Toei Animation Inc. are teaming up to bring fans Dragon Ball Z Saiyan Double Feature. On Saturday November 3 (at 12:55 p.m. local time) and Monday, November 5 (at 7:00 p.m. local time) they will screen 1990’s Dragon Ball Z: Bardock – The Father of Goku and 1995’s Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn for the first time ever in the U.S. and Canada. In addition to the fully remastered screenings, “audiences will view special content and receive an exclusive Dragon Ball Super trading card by Bandai (while supplies last, quantities are limited).”
Full descriptions of both titles are below, but thematically they make for a nice, generational family affair double feature. Well, as “nice” as it can be when you are dealing with horrible visions of the future and fighting monsters and zombies. You can find the complete list of the over 650 theaters around the U.S. that are participating here, and for those of you in Canada you can find showings at the Cineplex site.
