Is DRAGON BALL the Next Big Style Trend in Pro Soccer?

During the Black Panther press tour, Michael B. Jordan surprised some observers for so openly declaring his love for anime. But he’s far from alone when it comes to his passion for Japanese animation. In the world of pro soccer, there are at least two athletes who have proudly displayed their fandom for Dragon Ball by getting Super Saiyan-inspired hairstyles.

Manchester United and French National team player, Paul Pogba, recently unveiled his new blue and blond hair, which he described as “Super Saiyan Blue.” Unfortunately for Pogba, not everyone he plays with is a Dragon Ball fan. According to GiveMeSport, Olivier Giroud, one of Pogba’s fellow players on the French National team, called him “Pikachu” when he first saw the hair.

Earlier this month, Montreal Impact player Dominic Oduro also unveiled his Dragon Ball-inspired look.

Oduro’s done some pretty wild things before, including his “pizza” hair style. Oduro and Pogba have also drawn comparisons to each other for their willingness to experiment with their hair before. But we can’t help but wonder if they’re just the first players to really embrace a Dragon Ball look. Both men have only gone partial Saiyan so far. Who’s going to be the first man who goes full blond and recreates the look directly from the anime and manga? That’s what we want to see!
