Dominic Cooper Will Return as Howard Stark on AGENT CARTER

With Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s sophomore season now in full swing, all eyes are turning to the company’s next play in the small screen pool, Agent Carter. Currently planned as limit series event, the new drama will take fans back to post-World War II as Captain America’s Peggy Carter (played by the returning Hayley Atwell) works to build up the beginnings of what will one day become the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. Now, with the series’ 2015 premiere fast approaching, one of the biggest questions viewers have is whether or not the MCU’s Howard Stark, Dominic Cooper, would be appearing in the show. Well, wonder no more because, thanks to Marvel, we have our answer.

According to the studio, Cooper has officially signed on to appear in the new drama as Howard, though the amount of episodes he’ll be appearing in is currently unknown.

The official plot synopsis for Agent Carter reads as follows: “[The series] follows the story of Peggy Carter. It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life–Steve Rogers.”

Based on the line “on secret missions for Howard Stark,” it would seem that Cooper’s role would be rather extensive since he basically has to give Peggy her missions. With any hope, it means Dominic will be a regular on the drama, and not just someone that pops in and out randomly as needed.

Agent Carter can’t get here fast enough, and the more we hear about, the more excited we become. Marvel’s really doing a great job at giving fans exactly what they want as their television arm expands.
