DOCTOR WHO’s Michelle Gomez Joins Cast of GOTHAM

The world of Gotham is about to get a little more insane (with the way this season has been playing out, that is saying a LOT) as Michelle Gomez joins the show with this Monday’s episode entitled “A Bitter Pill to Swallow.”

Doctor Who fans know Gomez very well, as for the last two seasons she has been a thorn in the side of the Doctor and Clara as the newest incarnation of the Master, now known as Missy. Gomez’ performance makes you want to love and hate her at the same time.

Gomez’ character on Gotham will be called “The Lady.” For right now, we don’t know anything more. Wait. Missy? Mistress? The Lady? Could it be? I will leave the “Bat-Doctor” fan theories to you guys. While we don’t know the Lady’s specific role in Gotham just yet (The subtitle of this season is “Rise of the Villans,” so we might have SMALL clue), we do know what she looks like, thanks to a picture Gomez tweeted on November 9:

This isn’t the first time Gotham has had a Doctor Who connection, as Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred, is the son of Jon Pertwee, the Third Doctor.

Whether she’s on the side of good or bad, if her appearances on Doctor Who are any indication, Gomez will definitely make an impact.

Gotham airs Mondays at 8 pm on Fox.

So what do you think? Will Michelle Gomez be a good fit into the world of Gotham? Is “The Lady” code for another well-known villain? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
