As we get closer and closer to that most hectic and joyous of geek weeks, we’re beginning to see more and more exclusive merchandise up for grabs at this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego. It’s a glorious time for fans and a really sad time for bank accountsâthough the credit card companies certainly love it. But with things as cool as the haul coming in the Titans range of vinyl figures, who can complain? This year, Titan has 3″ and 4.5″ figures and toys from fan favorite properties Doctor Who, Star Trek, Adventure Time, and Ghostbusters.
With the 50th anniversary of Star Trek happening this year, it seems no better time to celebrate the grandeur, the intelligence, and indeed the silliness of the original TV series and crew. Titan is offering to convention goers an awesome two-pack of 3″ figures from the second season premiere “Amok Time”âknown colloquially as “That One Where Spock is Horny and Wants to Kill Kirk.” It even has Kirk’s chest wound from the brawl and a background in front of which to pose. Also for Trekkies, a 4.5″ replica of the original U.S.S. Enterprise.
For the Doctor Who fanâwhich you know I amâTitan has a couple of sweet options to compliment their already massive collection of Whovian merch. First, a truly unsettling entry: the ghostly, eyeless Doctor that appears in the series 9 episodes “Under the Lake” and “Before the Flood.” Really awesome, methinks. To go with that, there’s also a translucent TARDIS with glitter decco, if you like the freakier takes on classic images. Both of these are 3″.
And to finish up, a couple of nifty ones. First, a 3″ translucent Slimer from Ghostbusters with his gaping maw full of hot dogs, as happened in the original film. And second, a 4.5″ Finn figure from Adventure Time, with his mouth wide open in an excited expression, mimicking you, methinks.
All of these figures will be available at the Titan Comics booth at Comic-Con while supplies last. Check them all out in the gallery below!
I’m pretty excited about these, are you?! Let us know which is your favorite in the comments below!
