“Doctor Who” Series 7b Pictures (SPOILERS)

BBC America’s Doctor Who Tumblr has just put up a bevy of new screen grabs from the first four episodes of Series 7b, which will, of course, premiere on March 30th. If you don’t want to be spoiled at all, please look ne’ further. Otherwise, have at you!

The first batch is from the first episode, “The Bells of St. John,” written by Steven Moffat and directed by Colm McCarthy.

The top photo and the one below are from episode 2 (or 8, really), which doesn’t have a name yet, but is written by Luther‘s Neil Cross and directed by Farren Blackburn.

The third episode may or may not be called “Cold War,” and features the return of the Ice Warriors. It’s written by Mark Gatiss and directed by Douglas McKinnon.

Finally, episode 7.2.4, which also has no title and is written by Neil Cross again and directed by Jamie Payne, features guest stars Dougray Scott and Jessica Raine.

One thing from these pictures have become abundantly clear: I want to start wearing purple tweed and bow ties.

  1. Nervoussim says:

Love the new photo clips. In response to Nathaniel H.- Yes! See the 4th Doctor in:

    “Robot”
    &

verses the 4th Doctor in: “Horror of Fang Rock”

verses the 4th Doctor in: “Logopolis”

In fact, the 1st and 2nd Doctors had much variation in dress; the 3rd Doctor often was seen in various colors or even sometime quite different, and the 7th Doctor went through a darker variation in his later tenure also. Only the 5th and 6th Doctors had only slight variations throughout their times as the Doctor but they did have some slight variations. I think the variations on the same theem is one of the interesting things about Doctor Who.

  2. Cyrus vidrine says:

For a second I thought the doctor regenerated. freaked out

  3. GuanoLad says:

Jessica Raine (second from the bottom) seems to be dressed like Sarah Jane Smith. Revisiting an era that has already had an entire run of the original show is kind of a weird thing, if you think about it.

  4. Nathaniel H. says:

I really like this. A lot. These pictures are getting me really pumped up for the end of the month. Is it then yet?

Question for the more observant Whovians than I: have any other Doctors had costume changes like this? With essentially the same look but a bit of a new twist? I know each Doctor is sort of known for his own style…

  5. Commonperson says:

I have to say I’m liking the new look, very Victorian vibe which works given the Christmas Special (looks like he may have sunk a few decades in to sulking there) has an almost Baker like feel.

  6. Jake says:

I really want this right now. Like really. Like really really.
