DOCTOR STRANGE Fan-Made Opening Sequence Will Cast a Spell on You

With all of the various Marvel Studios films planned for their cinematic universe over next several years, there’s a lot for fans to look forward to. One fan in particular, Alex Silver, is most excited for the forthcoming Doctor Strange film starring Benedict Cumberbatch as The Sorcerer Supreme. Silver is so excited, in fact, that he’s posted his own version of an opening title sequence for Doctor Strange.

The transformation of the 2-dimensional images from Doctor Strange comics into 3-dimensional environments and animations really captures the further blurring the title will do to the line between comics and films. Combined with the song  “W.A.N.D.” by The Flaming Lips, the video is not only a great tie-in with magic, something we’ve not yet seen in the MCU, that also brings the character into a more modern style for Marvel’s younger fans.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has touched on plenty of far-fetched concepts, but some fear Doctor Strange could push suspension of disbelief too far for some fans. (Did they SEE Guardians of the Galaxy?) For what it’s worth, we think Silver offers what is needed for a Doctor Strange film in his opening sequence: a mix of something old and something new to maintain loyal fans while also capturing new ones. Lets hope the actual film can live up to it.

What did you think of Silver’s project? Let us know in the comments below.
