Do You Have What it Takes to be Google’s Ultimate POKEMON Master?

Do you get charged-up by Zekrom? Know exactly where those fickle Flygon likes to hide out? Champion Charizard wrangler? Then Google wants you to tackle their latest role: Pokémon Master. The team over at Google Maps has chosen you, fans of the popular game franchise, to criss-cross the world in the name of catching ’em all and nabbing the most exciting job of which the Internet has ever heard. But you only have until April 2nd to do it.

Only by “catch ’em all” they clearly meant “catch the joke,” because — spoiler alert! — it’s April 1st and therefore: April Fools’ Day. Ahh those pesky (and creative!) folks at Google have done it again, using a blog post and video to incite the delightful frenzy amongst the myriad Poké-folk that live and breathe the game’s mission. “We value employees who are risk-taking and detail-oriented, have deep technical knowledge, and can navigate through tall grass to capture wild creatures,” explained Google software engineer/Advanced Pokémon Trainer Tatsuo Nomura. Damn you and your evil lies, Google!

The video itself is charming whether you’re a fan of the Pokéworld or not:

Now tell us true in the comments: you’d totally apply for this job if it was real, wouldn’t you?
