Several highly anticipated trailers have been revealed since the beginning of December, and Disneyâs live-action remake of The Jungle Book may be the next film in line for a trailer debut.
Walt Disney Studios has released a Vine with an impressive look at the CGI animals in The Jungle Book, including Bagheera, Baloo, King Louie, Kaa, and Shere Khan.
Bill Murray will provide the voice of Baloo, the bear who serves as a guide and a protector for Mowgli (Neel Sethi). Scarlett Johansson was a surprising choice for Kaa, who was previously portrayed as a male snake. Christopher Walken will play King Louie, Ben Kingsley will voice the brave panther, Bagheera, and Idris Elba will perform the voice of Shere Khan.
Disney also released a new âliving posterâ for The Jungle Book. But âmotion posterâ seems to be a more apt description. It features almost all of the major characters from The Jungle Book as Mowgli wields âmanâs fire.â
Rudyard Kipling wrote The Jungle Book in 1894, and Disney’s animation division adapted it in 1967. Aside from the more realistic CGI animals for the modern update, Jon Favreau seems to have used the Disney film as a visual guide, keeping the original story is largely intact. As in previous incarnations, the story follows Baloo and Mowgliâs journey towards Manâs village after Shere Khan vows to kill Mowgli.
