Disney’s HAUNTED MANSION Subscription Box Will Send You on a Scavenger Hunt

Kindly step all the way into this post to learn about the newest way Disney is going to take your money. They’re releasing a Haunted Mansion-themed subscription box! The fan-favorite theme park attraction is the inspiration for a series of three Ghost Post mystery boxes. Disney has tiptoed into the subscription service world before with pins and Tsum Tsum plushes, but they’re doubling down on the concept with the Ghost Post, going this time for an upscale, interactive approach. Sign. Me. Up.

The Ghost Post will start shipping at the end of March. It’s an all or nothing deal since each box is part of a story that connects subscribers to the ghoulish residents of the Haunted Mansion. Along with collectibles, you’ll receive what sounds like a scavenger hunt of sorts. It’s a different approach to the mystery box idea, and one that I hope catches on. The items in the box will interact with iPhones, particularly through the Phantom Radio iPhone app, to supply you with information and clues.

So what’s in the boxes? Ha! Like Disney is sharing that information. However, given the price tag and the fact that it’s Disney, I’m optimistic about the contents being creative and top notch as far as quality. Disney does say there are seven to nine objects in each shipment.

You can subscribe to the mystery shipments through Disney’s Ghost Relations Department (if nothing else, visit the Ghost Relations Department for some amusing tie-in copy). It’s $199 for three eerie boxes. Only 999 subscriptions are available (for obvious reasons). Are you brave enough to sign up for scares? Tell us in the comments.
