DisneyNature Releases Clips from BEARS Documentary

In anticipation of DisneyNature’s Bears, Disney has just released two clips from the movie.

The movie follows a mother Alaskan brown bear, Sky, and her two cubs Scout and Amber as they combat the numerous challenges of the wild Alaskan ecosystem. From dealing with the brutal cold of early spring to avoiding hungry wolves and rival bears, this story is packed with more life lessons than the Berenstain clan ever offered.

In this clip, the cubs have just emerged from the den they were born in and are meeting the stunning landscape they’ll call home. Unfortunately, while the towering mountains are beautiful to us, they present a serious obstacle to Sky and her babies. They will have to get all the way over them before they can find anything to eat.

This clip shows the family going out on a clam digging mission. Unfortunately, one cub quickly learns that even the simplest Alaskan animals can still present frustrating defense mechanisms.

Bears is directed by Alastair Fothergill (Earth, African Cats, and Chimpanzee) and Keith Scholey (African Cats) and is narrated by none other than Dr. Steve Brule himself, John C. Reilly. The movie opens in theaters April 18th; See it in the opening week and Disneynature will make a donation in your honor to help protect U.S. national parks.

If DisneyNature docs are up your alley, check out this trailer for next year’s Monkey Kingdom, which, secretly also has bears in it.
