Construction is currently underway at Disneyland for the brand new Star Wars Land expansion, which is one of the most anticipated theme park additions in recent memory. And while it may be a while before we see the finished product, Disney has offered a tantalizing new glimpse of what to expect.
Via the official Disney Parks blog, a new piece of Star Wars Land concept art has been unveiled online before its debut at Disneyland, where it will go up on the construction gate in Frontierland.
Star Wars Land is set on a previously unrevealed planet near the outer rim of the Star Wars universe during the time frame of the new trilogy. While the X-Wing is eye-catching, the artwork also reveals the cargo bay of the Millennium Falcon, as well as rock formations, shops, and other buildings. At 14 acres, Star Wars Land is also reportedly the single largest expansion of the Disneyland resort to date.
Disney has yet to reveal all of the rides that will be in Star Wars Land, but it is known that one of the signature attractions will be a Millennium Falcon ride that will put fans in the cockpit of the most famous ship in the galaxy in the middle of the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance. Maybe we’ll even get the chance to make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs!
Star Wars Land doesn’t currently have an opening date, but you can bet that we’ll be among the first in line!
